MOV’EO: EUROPE'S FIRST COMPETITIVENESS CLUSTER DEVOTED TO RESEARCH AND DEVELOPMENT IN THE AUTOMOBILE INDUSTRY
The cluster's aim is to generate a network among industrial partners and research and higher education & training organisations in order to conduct research projects in the automobile industry; one of France's centres of excellence. In Normandy, the sector represents some 12,500 direct jobs (vehicle and equipment manufacturers), i.e. 13% of the region's industrial employment, and 17,500 indirect jobs (suppliers, subcontractors), i.e. 18% of the region's industrial employment. Normandy is one of France's four thriving motor industry regions.
