A 20.1M€ BUDGET: THE REGION ENCOURAGES THE DEVELOPMENT OF CULTURE AND FREE ACCESS FOR ALL

- New policies to encourage literary, art & design and cinema economies.
- "Pass Jeunes" programme for high school pupils, apprentices or the unemployed, aged from 15 to 20 years.

FACILITIES TO SUPPORT LIVE PERFORMANCE

Calvados:
- 10 theatres and performance venues
- Conservatoire National de Région, National Conservatory (Petit and Grand Auditorium de Caen)
- Several concert halls including the Zenith (Caen) the Fonderie (Herouville Saint-Clair), the Big Band Cafe (Hérouville
Saint-Clair), the Baronnie (Bretteville-sur-Odon)
- Facilities to support radio, television and cinema
- 65 cinemas

Manche:
- The Trident, national theatre in Cherbourg—Octeville, coordinates three performance venues: the Italian theatre, the
Butte theatre and the Vox concert hall- 2 municipal theatres (Avranches and Coutances)
- 46 cinemas

Orne:
- The Scène Nationale 61 is one of France's 69 national theatres.
With a departmental vocation, it offers programmes throughout 3 different venues: The Alençon theatre, the Forum in
Flers and the Carré du Perche in Mortagne-au-Perche.

FACILITIES TO ENCOURAGE BOOKS AND READING

- 75 libraries, resource centres, mediatheques and cultural centres listed in Normandy
- The Centre Régional des Lettres: federates regional competence in the field of literary works and reading
- The IMEC (Institut Mémoire de l'Edition Contemporaine), reunites, preserves and highlights archive and study resources
devoted to the region's main publishing houses, journals and the various partners involved in literary and creative works
